5. Love of the unreal: Understanding the World Through Fake Versions of it by Ethan Gould
There is a certain mania to creating simulacra, whether in theater, films, games, puppetry, technology, visual art...this talk explores some philosophies of this desire, and shares some of tactics artists have used to complicate or challenge perceptions of the real through a variety of genres.

We are the traditional string trio of violin, viola, and cello.  But we like to seek out music from a broad range of times, places, and styles.  17th to 20th centuries (sorry, no 21st yet).  England to Spain to Italy to France to Germany to USA.  Join us on a sonic tour of time and space ...
